Chicago, IL - (March 21, 2023) - The Chicago Fire Department and other emergency responders were dispatched to O'Hare International Airport on Thursday morning after reports of a person trapped in machinery at Terminal 5. Upon arrival, officials discovered a deceased woman entangled in a baggage conveyor belt.
The victim has been identified as a 57-year-old woman. Her identity has not yet been released. Authorities are investigating how she entered the restricted area and became entangled in the machinery. The baggage handling system at Terminal 5 has been temporarily shut down while the investigation is underway.
