Real Sociedad Defeat Granada to Climb Up the La Liga Standings

Sociedad's Dominant Performance Earns Them Three Points

Real Sociedad continued their impressive form in La Liga with a convincing 2-0 victory over Granada at the Reale Arena on Sunday. The Basque side dominated the match from start to finish, creating numerous chances and controlling possession throughout the 90 minutes.

Sociedad took the lead in the 25th minute when Alexander Isak converted a penalty after Granada's German Sanchez was adjudged to have fouled Adnan Januzaj in the box. The Swedish forward made no mistake from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Second Half Control and Late Goal

Sociedad continued to press for a second goal after the break, and their efforts were rewarded in the 75th minute when Portu tapped home from close range after a cross from substitute Ander Barrenetxea.

The win moves Sociedad up to fourth in the La Liga standings, just two points behind third-placed Barcelona. Granada, meanwhile, remain in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.

Sociedad's Impressive Season Continues

Real Sociedad's victory over Granada was their fifth win in their last six La Liga matches. The Basque side have been in excellent form since the turn of the year, and they are now pushing for a top-four finish and a place in next season's Champions League.

Sociedad's success this season has been built on a solid defense and a potent attack. They have conceded just 22 goals in 26 La Liga matches, the third-best defensive record in the league behind only Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

Granada's Struggles Continue

Granada's defeat to Sociedad was their fourth in their last five La Liga matches. The Andalusian side have struggled for form all season, and they are now in danger of being dragged into a relegation battle.

Granada's main problem this season has been their lack of goals. They have scored just 23 goals in 26 La Liga matches, the second-worst attacking record in the league. Unless they can find a way to improve their attacking output, they will be in danger of relegation.
